These protein hydrolysates improve the manageability, shine and body of the hair, and they are also excellent skin moisturisers. PEPTEIN® 2000 is ideally suited for hair care products, where its maximum benefit is best seen. PEPTEIN® 2000 not only coats and smoothes the outer layer of the hair (cuticle) to provide shine, combability and volume, it will also penetrate into the cortex, actually building itself into the hair. PEPTEIN® CAA, collagen amino acids, is manufactured from the same high quality gelatin source as PEPTEIN® 2000 except that the protein is further hydrolysed to polypeptides and amino acids. Amino acids have a strong affinity for water and can bind and “hold” this water. It is these properties of amino acids which play an important role in the moisturising properties of PEPTEIN® CAA for both the hair and the skin. Amino acids can also be considered to be natural humectants. PEPTEIN® CAA can help to replenish the moisture lost in dry skin or dry, damaged hair.
